Fit carmat install Nightmare

I purchaced the Honda Fit all season floormats and it was such a pain in the butt to install the clips for the driver side mat, I had to cut slots in the carpet to install the clips and it still was uneven. I had the drivers mat loose for about a week and the edge of the mat rubbed a wear spot on the carpet just obove the floor below the console, it rubbed the fuzzy surface and the backing is showing and its a eyesore. Anyone have any ideas hot to repair this worn spot on carpet

not sure how one might repair something like that without replacing the whole carpet.

If money isn't much of an issue buy weathertech floor liners, and sell the honda mats... you won't regret it! if not well you could always try to use contact cement and rubber mat at home depot...

Just saw the weathertech floor liners and they look very nice. Might think about them in the future.
