How NOT to install floor mats...

Believe it or not, MY DEALER DID THIS! The stupidity goes into the are of being intentional. Absolutely no one can be this stupid. I discovered this once I got the car, freshly bought, home. I noticed the floor mats had scooted around and thought they weren't hooked in.

Supposedly, Monday, they are going to replace my carpet. I'll install the floor mats myself.

BTW, it is CREST HONDA - NASHVILLE TN. Nashvillians may want to go somewhere else for Honda service....

Sh***tty first post, isn't it?

lol man that sucks. I thought i did an awful job on my install, but it looks like they totally missed the spots. they didnt leave enough space so that the carpet doesnt rip out.

If you self install the mats, make sure u really feel around for the spots to but the holes. actually take time to use the exacto knife or box cutter. Make sure you leave a nice gap of carpet between the two rectangular cuts so it doesnt rip out like your picture shows.

I'd try to get some freebie accessories (rear bumper applique, trunk tray, center armrest, t-shirt, etc) from the dealer to compensate for their idiocy & your time & grief. if they're stingy, then i'll report them to corporate & then maybe get free stuff from main office.

Damn that sucks. Santa Ana Honda did a dumb job when they delivered my car too, but at least they didn't cut anything. Their definition of install was, to just place it on the floor and hope he doesn't notice we didn't actually do anything. Needless to say I have NEVER returned to that dealer for anything, and do not plan to.

WTH! You saying the took the time to cut the entire hole like that? WHat did they expect the hook to hold up against then? Absurd!

I did the install job myself, and while it was not 'dead easy', it wasn't brain surgery either. I just took my time as others have said, and it went just fine.

Yikes! What a mess - can't believe they did that to your car and let it go out the door like that. Lester Raines Honda did my mats perfectly and I've had them since June 2007 without any problems. They installed my mats, put on my wheel locks, my exhaust finisher and my cargo cover. They installed them all for free and gave me a discount for purchasing direct from Honda. I installed my Mugen e-brake cover but had not had time to release the center console and properly tuck it in around the base of the e-brake. I took it in for a yearly inspection and the guys pulled the console and tucked it in for me - Lester Raines Honda rocks !

I picked up the car today and the new carpet was installed. Even though I had specifically stated to "not install the floor mats this time", they were installed anyway and fortunately, installed correctly.

A new battery was also placed on the car due to the fact I had to jump it off the 3 mornings I actually had the car over the weekend before it went back to the shop.

I haven't had time to check and make sure everything was put back in place correctly and doesn't rattle to h*ll and back, etc, will do that later.

I appreciate the dealer doing the right thing, however, it is their job to make those things right.

This particular buying experience was still a dog, however....

Correct. And the dealer employs him/her and is ultimately responsible/liable for their actions....

Wow, that is truely impressive! Jenkins & Wynne up here in Clarksville have been great so far. Hopefully they never pull something like that...... On a side note it's great to see some more TN guys around here.
