So yall know the new fits only have one armrest conveniently located on the drivers seat, I would assume right hand drive fits have the same but the armrest on the left... yall see where this is going? Well since I'm not the biggest fan of the armrest console, I figured "Hey! I can just buy a new seat" (with an armrest of course) do any of you think this would be a good idea? Just me?

I think buying a new seat would be big money..........

but I would bet you (or a machine shop) could drill a hole into the passenger seat seat frame, tap it, use a shoulder bolt and trim cap and done!

Except get a RH arm rest from Asia or England before you drill any holes ( I assume it is available)

Your willing to spend hundreds of dollars for the seat and shipping just go get an extra armrest for your passenger?

Why dont you like the OEM Center console/armrest? Its a very nice piece.

yea yea it was a stupid idea. i guess i was thinking i could go to a junkyard and find one, but that would neveeer happen, it would be hard enough to find a left hand drive seat in the first place. if only....haha

i just think the oem armrest looks goofy. but hey function over form, ill probably end up getting one soon, do any of you have it?

I wish I did... heres a thread on it. It looks very nice to me, fit and finish is top notch and the leather is very nice.

I think you will find just about everything in a junkyard there to be left hand drive. Unless USPS has junked a few delivery vans off.

I saw a junked GE fit once. I had to travel 150 miles to viola, il to get a rim for $70 from a junkyard. There was nothing left of it. Literally it was stripped down to the frame. And some sections of the frame had been torched out too by local body shops. I asked how long the FIT had been there and they replied, less than a week. Good luck for the next few years getting anything from a junkyard. which makes me really sad because that means any mods that require cutting out sections of trim aren't going to be realistic until I have an ample supply of junkyard trim pieces to replace anything I break
