yes he is putting them in there. who cares. to each his or her own.
the person doesn't need another ten people getting on here telling
him how bad they are. he just wants to know where to mount the
ballasts.
stay on topic.
not trying to be an ass or anything. but it's just that every time
someone asks a question it's the same broken records.

back to the question. i mounted mine to the inside of the fenders.
and on the fogs i mounted them to the frame right behind the actual
light.

Could you please explain to me why you feel it is okay to actively help and support other owners to blind drivers on the road? Especially fit owners.

What other option is there? Retrofit? Last time I checked it was like a grand to get that done. I'm not paying that. I'm up for suggestions. Thanks for the possible mounting place

I'm just answering his question. where to mount the ballasts. thats all.

blinding people is a whole different subject and has been discussed
plenty of times. we don't need another thread on it. wasted space.
you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
the law will eventually catch up to all this but who knows when.
until then lets just post the links of the old threads so people
can read up. possibly a sticky in the GE8 section or the
Illumination section would help.

you can convert to. dam whats it called DS2 bulbs i think.
and get the shield that goes around them. not sure how
much it helps. but there is threads on this also. the only
problem is i think you lose high beams. but i'm not sure
anymore. now you can get bi-xenon bulbs that tilt. look around
plenty of info on this. the search engine is your friend.

I can't afford to buy a new Fit. Could someone tell me how to steal one?

Niko's picture is a great place to put your hid ballast, just use zip ties, I dont like to use double sided tape because overtime, it will loose hold strength and when you go and remove the ballast one day, leave a nasty residue on your chasis..

Did you at least try to align the stock bulbs first? They come aimed way too low from the factory. Put in some silverstars if whiteness is a big deal to you. Hell, put in some of the 'cool blue' halogen bulbs (an oxymoron if I've ever heard one) bulbs if you have to. It'll be lame as 10k hids but at least no one will be blinded. Do as you please though, we are few hundred miles a part so I won't ever be flashing you anyway.

Depends on the brand really, some have shields built in to help reduce glare but yes, aiming them down will help prevent blinding. It's doesn't help that our headlight housing is so huge!

Unfortunately that glare comes out of the headlight at every angle so even if you aim them at the ground 6 feet in front of the car you'll still have glare exiting at an angle that will strike other drivers. It jut has to do with the design of halogen projectors - they can allow some glare from halogen bulbs because it is much less intense than hid and the way light is emitted in a constantly moving arc in the hid bulb requires specific projectors designed to shield that glare entirely. If you keep them in they will sadly always have an element of glare in the halogen projector. I too wish it was as easy as sticking in a bulb and mounting a balast and taping some wires, but I can not justify spending the money on a retrofit so I stay stock. However, some of the new screw in type retrofit kits are quite affordable.
