I thought is was funny...

I went to Home Depot today and picked up a case long fluorescent bulbs, the fixtures, etc and everything went into the Fit w/o a problem. So as I'm sitting in the car, I'm looking around and see one guy with an Infinity SUV and another guy with a VW Golf (I think) and both are struggling to get their items in their cars and my stuff was longer and bigger! Heck, I could have carried their stuff too!

So I just sat there and

Yep, Local furniture store had a bowout sale on recliners, and pick up only. I bought one and loaded it in my Fit,no problem. A lady with a Audi wagon couldn't get her recliner in. She walked over to me to see how I put mine in my "tiny" car,and asked if I would help. We tried everything but hers was just to high & wide to fit her wagon. After a few minutes I said I can maybe fit her recliner in my car if she hauled mine. We both lived not far from each other. I unloaded mine, loaded hers{just barely} but it went in,and mine fit in her car{just barely}. My house was enroute to her house so we dropped off mine first and I followed her to her house.I made $10 for hauling hers, and comments of how big my "tiny" car was inside, and maybe she was going to look into a Fit of her own. Cool to think my "cheap/tiny" car outhauled something that probably cost 2-3 times what I paid.

SUVs have a surprisingly lack of cargo area from my experience. My sort of related story ... back many years ago now, I had to drop off a boxed exhaust system at a trucking company for shipping. That day I had my '97 Integra TypeR at work, so I asked if I could borrow my partner's Nissan Pathfinder to drive it over to the terminal, as I didn't think the box would fit in the ITR. Turned out that box was too long to fit in the Pathfinder, but it fit in the ITR. Lost a lot of respect for SUVs utility that day ... and an all new respect for hatchbacks! hahaha

I often just put the back seats up for many of my hauls, never even opening the hatch. But when I do, a LOT fits in there! That's a big reason I chose this car and it has not disappointed.

What did I find funny lately? A large town snow plow truck stuck on my court, sliding around like an elephant on it's back....ten minutes after I marched right on through it with the Fit, all unplowed! Gotta love it!
