Heh, heh, I was just thinking the same thing.

I can see spending that and more for dealership and/or manufacturer ephemera if you had a restored, or pristine original collector car, but not for my daily commuter car.

 

these arent made anymore. they are extremely hard to find.

 

Yeah, I understood that they are no longer made, but come on, they're not that old.

I too would be willing to "bet money" that the eBay seller is wrong in assuming that we'll never see any brand new ones being sold. There's still stuff like this from 40-50 years ago being sold at swap meets and other venues. When it comes to car stuff, eBay isn't the be-all end-all place to buy such items.

 

This guy has been selling these for years, I'm assuming he works for a dealership that had a stock of them left over and hes got them and is selling them. I bought the one in my car from him years ago, and recently picked up another to hold onto as the price went from $10 shipped 2 years ago to $20 shipped today.

As to those who say why? Its an authentic Honda piece that was given away at dealerships to Civic owners who brought their cars in for service. It was a limited production thing. Theres knockoff decals everywhere, these go inside the window so they can't be scraped off from the outside, so they wont be stolen, and they can't be scratched off while scraping windows in the winter!
