I hope it is just a simple fix. Please let us know what codes you find.

There are a few things that I suggest you guys to check.

1) make sure all the connections are secured. check the mounting location of the MAF to see if there's any leaks.

2) check and make sure the MAF sensor is clean.

3) Run 91 or higher octane fuel

For those who is having this issue, what kind of fuel are you guys running ?

I have customers with 06+ Civic with aftermarket intakes having the same issue but they were running 87 octane fuel but once it got switched to 91+, the CEL just went off and never comes back on again.

Thanks
Ben

What is the code description? If it's the MAF sensor then i guess I'm confused as to why higher octane gas would make a difference. But maybe I'm wrong. I dunno. Or if it's a different code does that mean if you buy the T1R intake you have to run 91 Octane?

And AJ are you still going to research a fix?

My guess is there is high exhaust temperatures due to the efficiency of the intake creating a lean mixture.... Using premium fuel and installing colder heat range plugs will lower exhaust temperatures and allow more timing advance.... An increase in fuel mileage and power increase could be the result of doing these things as well as not having the CEL come back on if my guess is correct.

I have yet to get the obd2 reader so i haven't had the chance to check the codes. I'll probably be needing gas by the end of this week so I'll try switching to 91+ if I dont check the code by then.

An intake on it's own isn't going to exceed the stock car's ability to add fuel. The ECU adjusts fuel trim based on what the o2 sensor is reading.

It would seem that way. I think that it is likely there have been exhaust changes as well on the cars having trouble. Intakes are almost installed after exhaust.

So my brothers friend hasn't dropped off the reader yet so no codes to report back. Just filled up a full tank of 91 octane tonight. The CEL is still on. Do I need to reset the ecu again or would it just go away if running 91 octane is the solution..? And to the above posts.. I do have the T1R 50s if that makes a difference.

yes reset the ecu. and no it wont be the exhaust. i really thing it is your MAF sensor put some electrical tape around the sensor where it sits in the intake tube.

This from someone else on the forum:

Reset ECU:

Start your car, let it warm up, make sure everything is off (lights, stereo, etc.), then turn the engine off.

Disconnect the negative battery cable from terminal, press on brakes. Reconnect the negative battery cable, start engine and let idle for ten minutes. (Do not REV the engine)...

... Turn off the engine, then drive... or whatever.

Yup, we are currently testing a few things to see if it will solve the CEL issue. However, we need to make sure it is a permanent fix.

We will keep you posted.
