Lug Nuts Locks, what should I buy
Hello,
I know if they want to steal them they will, but I'm just adding little extra work for the thief, so I'm in the market for purchasing a set for my 2009, but I don't know which one will fit, MFR are no help I called Gorilla company, jc whitney they don't know, my question to you is, what thread size? shape? (I do believe this is Acorn shape) and brand/model name model you suggest I should install in my 2009 fit sport.
thanks in advance

Go to any americas tire. They have very nice locks for ~$19.99 or so(make sure they are the gorilla ones for HONDA).
They carry the premium ones, not like the ones that will turn into a ball of rust that kragens have.
I also need to go by and get some for mine! I just went through this 1 yr ago on my jeep (4 tires alone on that thing cost a grand, so I definitely needed locks!)

You need 12x1.5 many manufacturers make them. I use Rays just because they're not as common and they're very light...the only downside is they don't come cheap.

EDIT: Koala is right! I just assumed you had aftermarket wheels. I never roll on stock wheels

Honda Lugnut thread diameter and pitch= M12 x 1.5mm
The OEM wheels us an Acorn/ball seat pattern, so you need a lug/lock that matches that. Honda makes OEM locks that will do the job just fine. There are a few other brands, but check to be sure they have the correct seat, or just buy the OEM ones with no worry.
Do not puchase aftermarket "tuner" lugnuts (Rays, Muteki, Skunk 2 etc) [edit, like the ones the guy just posted above my post] for use on the OEM wheels, they do not seat properly, will wear and can lead to the wheel coming off the car. The tuner lugnuts use a lug seat with a 45* taper, as opposed to a curved "acorn" shape of the OEM wheel's lug seats.

12x1.5? You can use the same locks I have on my Miata
Mazda Performance Parts: McGard Spline Drive Lugs and Tool Set
spline-drive lugs ftw. Not hex-drive. Chances are way less of a thief having a spline-drive wrench

and apparently the place that take it off for me said they do this all the time on those autozone/advance autoparts kind of wheel locks.
Go with OEM Honda. They match the weight of the locking nut to the regular nuts exactly, so you don't have to worry about balancing issues. They can be had for $35 plus shipping from College Hills Honda: Honda Fit Alloy Wheels - Genuine 2009-2010 Honda Fit Alloy Wheels
I'm sure you could get them cheaper from somewhere else on the net (CH charges a lot for shipping IMO).

YikeS!
How do you know that? I can't find anything that says they are the same weight.
It says it on the package. "Will not affect balance" or something to that effect. In order to not affect balance they have to weigh the same.
Thus, I ordered these last night:
"Gorilla Automotive 38431N Honda Ball Seat Wheel Locks (12mm x 1.50" Thread Size)"
Automotive; $19.99
Sold by: Amazon.com, LLC
Please read my post above, as the aftermarket 'tuner' style lugnuts do not have the correct lug seat-pattern for OEM factory Honda wheels, they are meant for aftermarket wheels with a 45* tapered lug seat. The OEM Honda wheels all use an "acorn" or "ball" shaped lug seat.
This happens all the time on these internet forums, people think they know what they are talking about/recommending and recommend the wrong thing. This is a very serious safety issue, and people have been pushing their luck all the time with tuner lugs on OEM Honda wheels. If you don't use the correct lugnuts and your wheels come off at freeway speeds you won't get much sympathy.
Lug nuts are one of the most important aspects on the car, do not screw it up, cheap out or do anything misinformed.
Omg even wikipedia knows. Lug nut - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Honda uses a spherical rather than a tapered seat, but the nut performs the same function.

If the OP or anyone for that matter is wanting these locks or lugs for OEM Honda wheels, be it alloys/aluminum or the steel wheels, if the wheels came from Honda, then those lugs/locks would NOT be a good recommendation.
