buying fit tomorrow

so tomorrow morning, im going to the dealership to get myself a ge8! i live in socal area and have been quoted about 17055 including destination for the AT sport. i really want to go with TW but am considering SSM. ill go see them in person to see what colors i like better.

i actually kind of dont want the ssm cause i have a silver car right now, but ssm actually looks pretty good on the ge8..iono we'll see

im going to try and push for about 18k otd, wish me luck!

p.s. if you live in the socal area and think i should push for a lower price because you got a lower otd price for the 2010, do not hestitate to post!

I got around 18k out the door on my '08 AT Sport. Sounds like a reasonable deal to shoot for.

Fun thing about the Fit the dealership really don't give you much of a break on pricing and they will try to upsell you on a Civic so watch out for that! Good luck with your deal and let us know what you ended up getting. Silver definitely does not show up dirt but I have had 2 silver vehicles before purchasing the Fit and did not want another silver one.

Silver is boring but hassle-free in terms of maintenance. SSM is usefully darker than Honda's other silver hues (e.g. Alabaster Silver Metallic), though, so it looks a little more interesting in the metal than cars in other shades of silver.

Good luck! Post photos when you get it.

Good luck...

If they are stuck on the price, then try to get some things thrown in...

Cargo Cover, Cargo Liner, Cargo Net, Floor mats, Window Visors, etc. etc.

$17055 is not THAT bad, but you can do a lot better, and in CA, you get nailed for all kinds of state fees and steep tax too, so your OTD will be around $19k.

Just bought my new silver mist fit sport 1.5 months ago for 15738 including destination and zero add-ons (~17,500 out the door). That deal was rare and hard fought, but you can find 15,988-16,188 specials on the fit sport a/t every once in a while.

In other words, if some hard negotiation is worth it to you to save more $, there is definitely some room for them to cave a bit. Just don't let them make it up by making you buy a karr imobilizer, paint/fabric protection, extended warranty, lojack, etc. If they don't cave on the price then ask them to include mats, a cargo cover, etc. On the color, just compare side by side and pick the one you can live with.. and ENJOY your car! I sure like mine a lot.

I don't know what your tax rate is, but I'd still press them for an OTD price under $19k. I started with a price of $16955 and ended up about $18.5k. That's mostly WA state sales tax, but the starting price was good.

Don't even mention MSRP or you'll probably end up paying too much. The local dealers are quoting invoice at $17355, so I had a lot of dealers to go through to get my price. Most still want to play the game of "I'll take your offer to my manager" I would give them an offer, they'd take it to the manager, then he'd come back with MSRP. I had to walk out on a couple of them. I found the best price though a dealer who does the internet quotes. The sticker price at the dealer is going to read $20k for a auto Sport. Ignore that of course, but you should be able to find a dealer selling for at least invoice.

PS: I bought the Orange Revolution Metalic. I've also had those gray and blue cars. I wanted something with blood in it's veins. White ? Try and step away from that color !!

Wow, that is pretty insane, especially considering CA tax rate and the price hike on 2010s. When I tried to get a Fit early last year at the height of the recession, dealers here in TX were still marking up their cars by 2-3K over MSRP, and would not go below $18,500 OTD for a Sport AT even with 20+ Fits on the lot. Seems like people are getting very low OTDs lately, I'd go for one now before summer if I was still planning to buy new. But I can't.
