Not a bad deal man, congrats on the purchase!

I just emailed a random dealer for a quote on a sport AT here just to test the waters, he gave me an $16,756 price, so that's about $18,054 OTD, pretty crazy if it holds. Guess the dealers I worked with before just really, really sucked.

Awesome man! Yeah those accessories often cost >$500 alone, plus the tint... so you did pretty good. Looking forward to pics.

sounds like you got a good deal... i paid roughly $18.3k+ OTD for my 10' Sport M/T about a month ago... i actually found dealers less willing to wiggle on the M/T because they were pretty hard to come by and the demand for them in the LA area seemed to be pretty high

anyway, enjoy the car! absolutely love mine so far...

Similar to you I switched from an Accord to a Fit in March. One thing I found initially frustrating with the Fit is that it's not a given that you'll get the high mpg numbers you see around here. I could see from the iFCD that if I tried to get the same performance out of the Fit as the Accord I would clearly be getting similar or worse mileage (~30-32mpg in the Accord.) Cruising at 80 in the fast lane, accelerating up hills, etc., were out the door if I wanted to see the FE benefits. However, that being said, over the past 6 weeks the Fit has really showed me how to drive much more efficiently. I've yet to see anything less than 37 (first tank) and have broken 40mpg already on a tank. So you shouldn't be getting terrible mpg, even during break-in, though it should get better.

First tank of gas will be awful. Tank after that will be more typical of the later tanks of gas... just remember to reset the trip meter when you gas up or your average will be off.

Mine gets 32-33mph driving mellow, mixed conditions. Freeway only I could see ~40mpg or so driving super chill.

Funny I also sold my 2005 I4 Accord a year ago but that thing got cruddy mileage.. low 20s.

I'm not too knowledgeable, but the first Fit's the US saw were the 07-08 models, although Honda normally has a 4-year model life. They could save money by running this model another year or two, but yes I would think there's a new model coming next year.

I got my Fit for $18.6otd. You guys should always be able to get the MT's cheaper, as far as I know they are cheaper on the sticker on the door.

This gen will run 4-5 years like every other honda. The 1st Gen Fit actually was around for 5 years I believe, just imported it's last two years to the US. Honda Made a conscious decision to not wait to bring a sub-civic vehicle to the US until the next gen arrived and it paid off. the 2011 will likely remain unchanged and then 2012 will be the MMC with a bumper refresh, a few upgrades elsewhere but nothing really different. i'd expect to see 2014 as the next Full Model Change arriving late 2013. The Big change I believe for next year is that it may be produced in the US instead of in Japan. That should help keep the car competitive price-wise and maybe allow for some upgrades.

Specboy:
The GD Fits/Jazzes were around for six years - 2002-2008 - although technically they were already sold in the last quarter of 2001. FYI

Who knows how long the GEs will last? I really can't say for sure...I'm betting at least five years as well before a new-chassis Fit/Jazz gets churned out.
