My 2009 Fit Sport review
My 2009 Fit Sport review
I want to start by saying that I don't have as many miles as many of you with the same year car because I have a company van that I drive (and bring home) every day, but with my 4,500 miles I have on the odometer, I definitely have an opinion.
For starters, I want to say that I couldn't be more pleased and surprised with the Fit. With all the amenities, performance and quality Honda puts out with every product they produce, how can anybody be anything less than smitten with a car that has an MSRP of $15,000 -$18,000 (I got mine for $14,500
)? Heck, I doubt anybody could even mention a car manufacturer who produces a car that is sold at the same price with all the standard features and performance our Fits come with.
Are our Fits going to win any races in stock form? Maybe. Maybe not. With all the available upgrades available for the Fits, will it beat my brother's tricked out STi or Lotus? No. But in day to day use, whether it be in the city or on the highway, the Fit has more pep and performance than many cars I've driven that sell for twice the cost! The car is economical and quiet under normal driving conditions, leaving others to believe you are a "green tree hugging person" yet when you down shift and accelerate, you are quickly reminded how our Honda's VTEC engines are race inspired. They love the high revs and don't mind the hard work when required. I just went out for a dozen donuts and hit 100 mph going there and the little 1.5 litre engine was so bored that he ate one of the donuts!!
Now for the creature comforts of the car.
My wife is not a car person/motor-head of any kind and as long as it takes her from point A to point B she is happy but even the Fit gets her to talking.......excitedly! Every time she rides with me in the car she has to mention how there's a nook, cranny, compartment or slot for everything. Not to mention how the car seems solid and has room for everything regardless of how much stuff she tries to pack in it. The built in USB connector just adds to the enjoyment; something that's not even available in a $60,000 Cadillac Escalade EXT! To date, the only thing she thinks Honda forgot to add to the Fit was a lighted mirror on the passenger side visor and if that's the only thing she can come up with........Honda did well.
Superbly Well !!!!!!
