dumb thread but gotta try it
ok, this might be a dumbest thread..but the worst that can happen is i get flame for it. anyways, i drive a 5spd manual GE. I like my seat to be in the perfect position everytime..so i get kinda annoyed when dealers move my seats and what not.
so my question is how many "notches" does the seat have when reclining and moving forward/backward on the rails?
a lot of time i would like to recline the seat to take a little nap..but i dread the aftermath where i have to readjust everything. i usually hop over to the passenger side to nap.
i wish our cars have the memory seating position function.
or maybe im just being too picky?

We used to do that in my shop to combat customer complaints. Still got a few even then. People..

i sit in my chair and run my knees into the dash, then back it up 2 notches. then i adjust the back until im sitting upright. i sit pretty far up for my size (6'2", 165lbs), but that's how i get my OCD seating right. i drive a GD, but that how remember it.
This is not dumb dude. I get irritated as hell when someone changes my sweet spot too!!! I wish they go to hell!!! lol I think the best way is to disconnect the seat position thinggy. I don't think u can really take the angle adjustment thing on the side out but removing the handle that controlls foward and back is possible. I know it's over kill but I think it's better than trying to find the sweet spot again after a quick dealer visit.
ive been adjusting mine like 2 times a week the past month :/ my ankles have been killing me, i would assume driving is the cause. I also play drums but never had this feeling before, and ive been drumming longer than ive been driving my fit... hrmmm
I instruct the dealer that if I pick up my car from service and I am having to readjust everything in the car THEY are picking up the tab for the services. Works everytime, they don't touch my settings on anything, seats/AC/Radio nothing. Now given that was when I had a VW but I am sure that any dealer would do the same. Just make it known you do not want your settings touched and usually they will not touch them.
