Hi, I finally got a Fit

A month ago my 1994 Toyota Pickup gave up the ghost. So I figured I'd look for a small hatchback for a practical 2nd car in addition to my 2007 Corvette.

The Fit seemed to be the best choice from all the reviews I read. So I went and took a look and test drove one with an AT. I put down a deposit but said I had to have a MT. It took them 2.5 weeks to find me one and they had to go all the way to Austin (almost 200 miles) to get it!

It is a red sport model. Now I need to find some floor mats and a good sunshade. I'm betting I can find some suggestions with a search or two.

It's interesting to me how many small pick-up owners transition to The Fit. I think the utility of The Fit meets some of the similar desires and uses that people owned a small pick-up for, with the flat cargo space, and the upright (Tall Mode) The Fit is a great comprimise. IMO it also is just a lot more fun to drive than any small pick-up I ever owned.

Nice 'Vette, sir. One word of advice, if you can spare the money, get the 3M ClearBra installed on at least the hood. I was washing my car by hand a couple days ago and noticed that my hood at almost 24k miles is looking pretty beat up. Wish I could have spared the money back when I bought the car and had it installed...

Enjoy the Fit, at almost 24k miles I have really nothing to warn you about...car seems pretty solid.

In my opinion, the cost of the fits hood is not worth the clear coat protection. By the time I were to want a hood, I could find one at a junkyard or so. Not anything against the film. I think the vette would deserve it, but then again its more expensive to replace that kind of stuff.
