Unhappy Rear Suspension Creak/Groan?

Anyone experience creaking or groaning from the rear suspension on a GE? Mine started doing it last winter but went away and has recently returned. It's most obvious when I do something like pull into/out of a driveway at an angle so that the opposite ends of the rear suspension get compressed separately as the car transitions from the street onto the incline of the driveway. It makes a little bit of noise while driving, but those noises are shorter than the drawn-out creak as I slow pull into the driveway.

I've taken everything including the spare out of the trunk, changed the position of the seats, and driven it with the hatch open and it will still make the noise. That seems to leave either chassis flex (which I can't imagine) or noise related to suspension articulation, maybe a bushing having collapsed or something.

Anyone experienced anything similar?

I'm still under warranty, so I'll just have to find time to get it to a dealer.

Matt

I hear the same thing. I think its the rear shock bushings are creaking. I heard this when I first got the car, but the dealer said he could not hear it.

Get you some ShinEtsu Grease...available at your local dealer...try greasing up some of the various suspension bushings.

I had to do this on my EP once a year--worked like a chizzarm.

Did you ever figure out what's squaking? Mine is doing the same thing, mostly when the weight transfers side to side, or when the rear suspension decompresses, the same as you've described. I figure it's either one or both of the springs not seated correctly for some reason and rubbing, or a bushing that needs greasing, but I haven't gotten under it to play around.

Yes! Every time I pull out of the driveway or hit bumps at an angle I hear this. I'm gonna give the shinetsu a try and see if that helps.
