Pretty sure it's illegal...to the best of my knowledge fog light colors can only be either yellow or white.

Blue in the US is reserved for Emergency Services lighting so you cannot have ANY blue lights on the outside of the car.

Blue lights are how you let people know you are a true auromotive enthusiast just like debadging, when I see a debadged car, I'm like "Wow that guy is such an ethusiast that he took his badges off to let the world know that he really apreciates the lines of his car, expecially when lowered on rota rims" same with those pretty blue lights.

OP:
Define blue. I had LED Fogs for a while and they were a white/bluish in color.

I never had a problem with them from a legal standpoint.

Another option if you want a blueish tint is Lamin-X Blue film. It will give off a blueish tint and also help protect your fog lense.

Just a question.

Headlight Armor sells a fog light cover in Clear, Yellow, Blue or Smoked. I kind of think the blue would look best on a black vehicle. But how can it be illegal? Where is the line drawn? Blue? Bluish HID tint? I don't want an emergency vehicle shade of blue but I do think the blue lenses would be nice.

Debadging screams "one of the letters fell off, and taking off the rest was cheaper than replacing it." There a reason there are so many Neon's without "N e o n" on the trunk lid. Also, "e o n" and "N o n" are pretty common.

Just found this in the Ohio law....

(1) The light from a spot lamp shall be white.
(2) The light from a supplementary driving or passing lamp shall be white.
(3) The light from an adverse weather lamp shall be white, yellow, or light amber.
(4) Adverse weather lamps shall be so wired that, whenever they are turned on, the tail lamp will also be lighted.

white and blue spectrum fog lights kinda don't make sense. Isn't a more yellow spectrum best for fog? It's always been my understanding.

There is a whole other discussion about that on
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...tml#post872317

From my research all the lighting / automotive experts say yellow fogs reflect less light from snow, rain and fog...but I was never able to find hard evidence to support this. I do agree though having my yellow fogs seem to help me personally but I'm no expert.

I go by the annoying meter. If someones yellow fogs are headed at me they annoying me much more so than white ones. Also 24 hour Le mans cars run yellow head lights at times. Lastly I noticed that cities put in yellow street lamps in high fog areas(my city does it)...so I feel pretty safe in saying that it's probably accurate.

Ha Ha. Well I think the annoying meter is probably a good thing sort of. The more they "annoy" you the more you are aware of them. I like them because they stand out. This means other cars are more in likely not to pull out in front of me if I "annoy" them

I noticed the Le Man's thing too. I even commented on the other thread about that. That's originally got the idea of changing mine to yellow. I was watching the 24 hr Le Mans when I ordered my yellow film.
I do think they mostly use the yellow film to differentiate between the classes

The street lights are sodium vapor lights and are installed for a number of reasons with cost and light stability being the first - fog/visibility isn't even on the list.

As to the color, look here:Fog lights They also have a look cool factor.

The Leman's boys run yellow primarily to help reduce glare I believe. No opposing driver's, but the rear view mirrors can get really old around 3AM.

you are right, thanks
I meant to put blueish tint such as a 8000k HID color
to match my low beam HID in 8000k.

sorry for the confusion, definitely I would not put an ambulance blue color bulb and I don't think there is such a color bulb in the market for our fog lamp.

I just purchased Mirror covers. They have two LEDs. One is orange for signal lights the second is a side marker in blue. Is this legal in Canada before I go to trouble of hooking them up?
