Kumho ASX 195/50-16

Get on Mugen Japanese site. This is the tire size they recommend for their 16' wheel. Now I know why. It transformed my 2010 Sport SSM into a Porsche. Kumho's are silent and MPG went UP 4mpg!!!! 205 is too big, looks stupid and hurts MPG.

At the moment, I get more than 4 mpg change just based on my mood.

Last week, by the middle of my tank, I was averaging 26 mpg. This week, I'm at 33 mpg at half tank (soon to go down!). No tire change.

Get back to us once you've recalibrated your speedo/odo to properly account for the new size (and taken and average mph over multiple tanks).

Just this 4th of july weekend, drove the Fit from Berwyn, IL. to Wisconsin Dells. I have to say, it's not the best of experience when talking about road and cabin noise. It was also very windy driving back, lol I was all over the place... that added to my conclusion to make the Fit within city limits driving.

The road noise reminded me of the 08 crv which I traded in for the crosstour. :-)

This might help with the noise a little... maybe.

I know I'm missing the plugs.

Where in IL you from Goobers?

I've read about body plugs some time ago. If I have them or not... that I have to check.

btw... indicator states I'm doing 28mpg atm. Might not be too accurate but it's giving me a good feeling already

I'm in the north suburbs of Chicago.

It's been interesting checking out the Fits that I see. Lately there's been a surge of the GD Fits, and I think its because GDs have finally gotten a lower used price for some of these folks to buy em.

Will the Kumho ASX 195/50-16 tire fit the stock GE8 Fit sport alloys?

jondotcom- My fit with 1500miles, virtually all in town driving, auto trans, started out getting 33, 34mpg with ac off. Last 500 miles with ac on all the time is getting 29, 30mpg. Everything being the same except the ac, the little 117hp engine feels the additional load, even though I can't detect it at the throttle pedal.

Can I do a 16x7/+40 wheel swap while keeping the stock 185/55 tire? Are these tires still within specs for a 16x7?

Bridgestone

Bridgestone just released a second option for the 2009 Sport - Potenza G019 Grid. It's a little more aggressive tread and found on a few BMWs. You'll only find them on TireRack, but they are $88 a piece vs $118 for the stock Turanzas. Stay away from Dunlop - you'll be sorry.

My stock Turanzas lasted much longer than expected and were great in the heavy Northeast snow storms in February. I wouldn't go up any steep hills, but barely plowed roads were not a problem with the stock tires and a 5-speed.

If you're planning on still using the OEM Sport wheels, you can also opt for 195/50/16. For that particular size, I'd go with the Falken Ziex ZE-912.

I've had Dunlops in the past with absolutely no issues. My wife's Civic EX Coupe with STB had the Sp Sport A2s on them and I had the Direzza DZ101's on the GS-R. Both handled fantastically and the A2's were fine in the winter (however nothing compared to our Winterforce M+S). The Direzzas were quiet and gripped like no tomorrow and I traded them in with 20k miles on the tread and plenty of life left. The SP Sports had over 35K on them and were probably good for another 20.

The Stock Turanzas that were on the Altima were Crap and many thought they were dangerous. They didn't do well in the winter up here in VT either. For the price they command, they were a huge rip-off. The Stock Turanzas on the Fit seem to grip better but that may be due to the weight of the fit. it's a light car and probably rubber bands would grip well.
