GE8 Fit vs. CRZ

Well, I saw my first CRZ yesterday and thought...not bad. You have my interest. Then I checked the price and the specs. Gase mileage is minimally better than my fit even with a big "Hybrid" badge on the back. Acceleration is comparable if not equal. And a nicely equipped CRZ is around 5g+ more. I can live with two doors, and I like a "sporty" car but I need way better mileage, specs and a lower price tag before it makes fiscal sense to trade "up". At some angles the car looks "dead sexy" and others it looks like the shorter cousin of the insight. I guess I was expecting to be tempted more than I am?

^Man that really gets old after a while...

Scaldy, I agree with you about the CRZ, it just doesn't seem worth it over the Fit. That $5K difference is already a few years worth of gas. While the CRZ isn't a bad car, I think Honda could have done more with it.

If it was just $5k more, I may have went with it, sadly, here it is more like $8-9k more and already the Fit cost me over $23k when all was said and done; $22k if I didn't purchase the Access sussy. I just want the $ to actual be worth something again, but don't see that happening any time soon.

Smart-a¥¥ is always better than a dumb-a¥¥.

Used the yen symbol because it is stronger than the dollar.

The CR-Z vs. Fit thing was just covered extensively in another thread, which is why you are getting the surly attitudes: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...5-sec-fit.html

Sorry if you got your e-feelings hurt, but you might have noticed that this topic was recently beaten to the ground in, what is probably, the most comprehensive "Fit vs. CRV" thread in the known universe:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...5-sec-fit.html

as well as here:
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...omponents.html

and eventually here:

I know they both have lots of space inside but why would anyone cross shop the two of these... let alone compare them

Couldn't resist.

The CRZ is growing on me and I actually like it now but I will not buy one and I will take the Honda Insight over the CRZ. Looks nice but functionality too limited unlike the Fit and performance is not impressing.

Perhaps the mileage is similar to the Fit's but emissions-wise, the Fit is a VERY dirty car compared to the CRZ...the Fit gets a sad 5/10 on the SMOG INDEX score which is crap considering its size, weight, and engine size.
