Navigation

Ok, this my be a dumb question, but it FIT's who I am.
So, I just got my 2010 Sport Fit (as mentioned on an earlier thread) last night (9-28-10).
I didn't want to pay the additional $1,700 for the navigation system (not to mention the only sport w/nav in the color I wanted is about 100 miles away in Torrance CA), however, driving to work this morning while using my iPod classic (I live for my music or visa versa) I realized how much of a pain it is to navigate through my iPod with this stereo (I have over 1200 complete albums), so here is my question.
If I were to find a crashed Fit with navigation and I were to purchased the Steering Wheel and the Stereo/Navigation System will the molex connectors (wiring harness) on the Sport model match the molex connectors on the Sport w/Navigation model.

Hopefully I articulated my idea with sufficient mental acuity , wow I wish I understood what that meant.

TIA

Installing the oe.navi system requires a few other changes.

The antenna will need a different adapter (called a sub-feeder). You might was to install the steering controls for audio and additional controls for the navi voice controls and the mic. *sorry, you already mentioned this.

If you're going to go this route, you're going to need to do a lot of research to make sure you get everything. It might not be very cheap either. Do you think you can get all the parts for less the $500? those parts, when bought new from an official Honda parts dealer will cost in excess of $4000.

Getting an aftermaket navi system can be cheaper and easier on the research, but could be just as difficult on the install and things like the mic (for voice control and/or Bluetooth) and other external buttons won't look like "original."

Thanks, I figured it would not be an easy mod.
I really would just like to have the screen to run my iPod by touch.
Good thing it doesn't cost to dream.....

Don't feel so bad! I have a 2009 Fit with navigation, and it's definitely not as good as you think it is -- it's just really laggy, which makes it kind of annoying to scroll through albums.

Here's a video I took of the navigation system. I'm using it with my 5th gen iPod video; the lag is slightly better with my iphone, but it's still pretty bad; I think the processor in the unit is just too slow.
