Unhappy Fit navigation system in a manual fit

I owned a 2010 Honda fit sport with navigation and it was involved in a crash on where I was rear ended. I was wondering if I would be able to get the navigation from my car and put the navigation into a brand new 2013 sport with a manual? I am also thinking that the steering wheel would also have to be changed out because of the buttons on the steering wheel? I am still waiting on the estimate to actually see if the car will be totaled. Thanks for your input guys.

If the 2010 gets totaled, you should be able to salvage at least bits of the steering wheel... namely the button controls. the audio controls and cruise are tied into a single harness in the steering wheel. I'm fairly certain the steering wheel is the same in 2010 vs 2013.

Installing a navigation system requires a few extra items, for OE, there's a sub-harness that is needed. then for OE and aftermarket, you have to deal with the antenna wire for the GPS. So, if you plan on salvaging the unit from the old car, you need to find all the additional wires and stuff.

there's also an additional pair of wires that run from the steering wheel to the unit (for the audio controls), but its part of the cabin harness... so it won't be easy to take out. your best bet there is to just run your own pair of wires for it (search for a DIY audio controls somewhere in the forums).
