for half the price of a sport, and over 1/4 the price of an authentic mugen grille, i'd like to say my pockets are much happier in the end. i'm not saying this is the ONLY choice or even the best choice for a grill option, but just making a point that "hey, there's an inexpensive alternative to the pricey 'mugen' grille."

 

Have you done it? how much work are you going to put into that grill and mugen badge to fill the space?

 

part of the reason i went with a replica was coz i wanted to badge my car a little differently-

autobot badge: $10-15 (had to buy a 2nd one coz the chrome one got jacked)
mugen emblem: $15 (hard find coz of all the really cheap plastic ones floating around, but found a metal emblem. unfortunately i measured wrong so there's a bit of an overlap. but still looks like it fits the grille.)
paint: $10 auto 'touch up paint'. was seriously debating on painting it to match the ssm, but i chickened out as it may look odd.. i might repaint it later..

 

Ok doesnt look too bad but I will have mine painted to match, also how much time did you spend on fitting it?

 

fitting: had to drill the mounting holes into the fiberglass. once that was done, followed the DYI instructions from youtube:

i'm no mechanic. no experience with diy. (believe me. i OVERPAID for my mugen lip spoiler by almost $300 having 'pros' install @ a honda dealership. my mistake)
the fitting isnt perfect. slight imperfection/irregularities (a slight 1mm gap at the top corners but they are easily hidden because of the hood. otherwise not a bad looking grille despite being a replica..

i just wander how hard it would be to paint it since its all blk and the OG one comes paint to match and blk.

 

that's not a sport grille... it's a mugen knock off

 

yeah i was just wondering about the painting of the knock off one (mugen)

 

the mesh part would be a challenge (taping?)... the rest should be easy
