Thumbs up Dynolicious

I've been waiting along time to check my 1/4 mile and 0-60 times. Unfortunately the nearest drag strip is 4 hrs away. I've been eyeing the G-Tech device for a couple months now...especially after Modified Mag did a "fact or fiction" piece showing how accurately it estimates 1/4 mile and 0-60 times. The down side is the $200 price.

Enter the iPhone + app store --> "Dynolicious" for $12.99. This nifty app will give all kinds of info including HP (yep....), skid pad, ET, etc.

I watched numerous videos on YouTube comparing Dynolicious, G-Tech, an official drag strip...even some dyno pulls to check the accuracy of the HP calculator.

So...on to the results:

My car - base Fit with 155 lb weight reduction, denso IK22 plugs, and sticky tires...and a completely full tank!?!?

Run 1:
0-60 - 9.3 seconds

Run 2:
0-60 - 9.1 seconds

Run 3:
0-60 - 9.0 seconds

Run 4:
0-60 - 9.1 seconds

It took me a couple runs to get my launches down as well as remember to put the pedal all the way to the metal in first gear after launching. After getting myself sorted out:

Run 5:
0-60 - 8.6
1/4 mile - 16.65 @ 79.7 sec

Run 6:
0-60 - 8.7

Overall I'm impressed with the reproducibility of the times. I wish I could have run some additional 1/4 mile runs....the hardest part is finding a COMPLETELY FLAT section of road. If I can get my car weighed on some corner scales I will test out the HP calculator...but I'm pretty sure what he number will be 92-96 HP based on Honda Tuning's dyno runs.

If anyone is considering this for fun then I highly recommend it

those numbers are in the ballpark (specially with the weight loss program)... nice app... might get it too.

Sounds like a great deal. Your numbers are pretty spunky! Thanks for the review.

This is a great app, I pulled a .87g turn fairly consistently, with one bounce to a .92, but the road wasn't level on that turn, which I'm sure had something to do with it. I can't wait to get better tires and try it again. Mine are on their last breath.

Got a couple of these for Android loaded up and now that my proclip is installed, I am ready to give them a whirl. aDyno (free) and Dynomaster (paid.) Btw- the pillar mount proclip is so badass, I can't even contain myself about it. If anyone needs a sturdy, very functional setup, look into getting one. Especially if you plan on keeping the Fit for a while (there are certainly less expensive solutions), because you can just swap off the adapter piece to fit just about anything.

I was reading on the CRZ forums (they are even more obsessed with the Fit's 0-60 time than we are), Car&Driver (or was it Road&Track) tested a stock Fit got a 0-60 time of 8.3?!?!

I don't see how that is possible...I have lighter wheels, stickier tires, and 165 less lbs overall??? If that 0-60 time is true, then my times must be inaccurate (yet precise...statistics FTW).

Once the PRM intake comes in (and replacement JDM hood), I'm gonna run some more times....I would love to break into the 7's for 0-60 and 15's in the 1/4 mile.

The ce28n's I put on have made a huge difference over stock. I wouldn't be surprised if I could get close to that time with my A/T

I did one lazy jump sissy footing run on my g-tech and I registered a 9.3 0-60. No mods done to the car. That would be awsome getting into the 7 second 0-60. With some juice it can be had small 35 shot

Also I'm sure the latest iPhone has much better forget what that mechanism is called, to detect g's than the old school g-meter. How do you have to mount the phone, does it need to plug into the 12v

^I sit it in the center console...now I can't remember which cupholder, but I'm pretty sure it's the deep one in the center console. I stick a wash cloth into the cupholder then wedge the phone into it. The wrag makes it fit tighter and prevents the phone from wiggling.

The word you're looking for is: accelerometer.

That app is nice +1 for you sir, the beer is on me. I think to get optimal results you need exact weight off your car. Plus a stable mounting location. I might try some Velcro or just cough up the money and get a car mount....hah and a place were there are no 5 ohh. The latter might prove to be a challenge

The app will produce accurate 0-60 and 1/4 mile times without inputting weight....BUT, if you want to use the dyno function for horsepower calculation, then you're going to need exact weight. Corner scales are a must. I think the best way to get consistent weights for the dyno would be to weigh the car with a full tank + you. Then, every time you add a bolt-on or performance part you can top off the tank (to get you back to the corner scale weight) and repeat a run for the horsepower calculation. I think using a "topped off" tank as the baseline is the only way to get truly consistent results for the Dyno graph. Of course, running a full tank will kill your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times...

That's true at 10 gallons it's an extra 80 pounds or so of weight. But at least it's consitant .I'm gonna try the app tonight, my g tech ss mount broke so it's not gonna work so well I have it sitting in that square bin next to the 12v .but I'll use both to see how close they come to each other

Yea even saw one guy compare mustang dyno, dynolicious, and g-tech. Pretty cool feature being able to send the results to friends, although I probably won't be using that feature

I installed the PRM over the weekend and made a 3 hr road trip after installing. The computer would have had plenty of time to "correct" the AFR...so this likely reflects the new baseline. I made a couple of runs but wasn't launching as well as I know that I could have. Nonetheless, I got a good .2 seconds shaved off the previous runs. I'm pretty sure I could hit 8.3 and maybe 8.2.

Run 1:
0-60 - 8.5 seconds

Run 2:
0-60 - 8.4 seconds

Next mod in the quest for 7's will be a lightweight pulley...HondaTuning dynode their Fit and proved a 3 tq gain throughout the power band....with 5 hp gained up top. After that, I'm really at a loss for power adding mods...any thoughts?

A 4yrs old thread but thanks for posting up your information on before and after PRM air filter runs. I am pretty much on the same path with my 2015 Fit. I've reduced weight by 152lbs and am fiddling with the intake. I have one more part on order to make the PRM air filter I have fit. The PRM air filter I am using is 3" in/out.
