Where to begin?
Where to begin?
Hello Fit Freaks, I am new to this site, not to Honda's but I did just buy my first FIT! It's a Black 2010 Sport, black interior.
So my question to you all is, if you had a clean slate to work with, knowing what you all know now....where would you start as far as mods go? Maybe start with the free mods first, then some recommended mods that I will have to buy? Thanks in advance to everyone, I look forward to chatting with you all!

Not sure why you are asking people how you should mod your car...
That should be a personal decision, not based off what some forum trolls tell you. A person's ability to think differently than I do is why I like modding cars in the first place. It's about setting yourself apart from what the next guy is doing...
In all seriousness though, I know you are only asking for an opinion, so I'll stop yanking your chain...
I am a firm believer that the first mod anyone should do to a car is suspension. The Fit responds very well to new springs or coilovers, and you can really hit corners hard. You can find a set of new or used springs for about $150 and it makes the car look great.
The next mod should be a new set of wheels and tires, or new brakes if you like the stock alloys. Bigger pads or slotted rotors will allow you to brake later going into corners.
Don't waste your money on anything relating to engine performance for now. You will see little to no performance gains without an ECU reflash. It's just the way the Fit's computer is programmed.
Hope this helped.

2 legit...I am not asking anyone to mod my car. I am a member on three sites for my other rides that are similar to this one VW, Toyota and Dodge and on those sites people generally have quick, free ways to improve the car right away. For example my trucks horn sucked, I asked the site how to improve it and low and behold there was a baffle that could be removed....free and problem solved.
So to give you an idea my first mod will be to run blue LED mood lights in the floor boards of the FIT that will be able to be turned on and off by either a switch on the dash, or the interior overhead lights.....separating the left from the right of course. The cost, 16 gauge wire, Blue LED's at $5 a pair and the know how to solder.

first free mod is to rid of dealer badges and or dealer plate frame. check if they drilled hole/s on your front bumper while you're at it.
tints are a must on fits as they can easily turn into a greenhouse on wheels.

Thanks, I actually have a deal with the guy doing my remote starter to tint it at the same time and it's all pretty cheap. It's funny that a couple of you have lead with the tint, I traded in a Black GTI with black interior without tint and it got so hot inside the car it actually blew a whole from the inside out of the rear passenger window....tint is a must for me, thanks!
and springs.
Oh good suggestion.. is this a bolt-in/plug'n'play affair or should I clip the pigtail from the OE Fit horn?
Thank you!

I'm going to add rear anti roll bar.
Helps the rear from sliding out on turns.... I got it after I lowered my car and made it handle even better.

Of course all of this is a matter of personal opinion, but I think if your plans may include an altitude adjustment IE lowering, I would lower and change the wheels and tires. It makes a huge difference in the looks of the car and IMHO the best bang for your $ in making the car stand out! It is a quick way to personalize the car. There are several options, springs for a subtle drop, to coil-overs for slammin the car. I'm doing the inexpensive way for now with my Drop Zone springs on the way already! I plan on doing coil-overs next year sometime but I am ready to get my car closer to the ground and $70 (Ebay $70 shipped) is just right. There are others on here that have used the DZ springs without problems. Oh Search is you friend... ( you'll hear that a lot! I know I have!) Retard wiper delete is free and it gets rid of the little wiper. If you want yellow fogs there are several threads on this. Change the yellow bulbs (turn signals and running lights) in front for clears is another cheap one I saw the other day. There are lots of free or cheap things that can be done it's just a matter of if you want to do them.
I too have a black 2010 Fit Sport. I am very happy with my decision to tint the fogs yellow with laminex. Also trading the emblems for red JDM's has been a big improvement. You also can't go wrong with replacing all of your interior bulbs/license plate bulbs with leds. I have also replaced the taillights with led JDM lights that look almost the same without the horrible red reflector on the side, small change, big imporvement. Last, going with chrome covered bulbs for the parking light and turn signal give the headlight a better look. Also with tint...I went 20% and I feel like it's a little to dark w/ the black. Go for 30%.
