How the hell did they pull that off and why are you not bending them over a tool cart till they fix it for you?

that.

but to answer your original question, to my knowledge there isn't an aftermarket tailgate (someone correct me if i'm wrong). also that tailgate looks repairable. pull it out, thin layer of filler could probably take care of that.

Yeah- If it is their fault-they must have liability insurance and you need to make a claim and get them to fix it. Their insurance should also pay for a loaner while your car is in the shop

If a shop did that to my car, you can be sure that I'd get a new hatch and a new bumper skin.

We're all human, and make mistakes. If they were willing to pay for the damages as they seem to have done, warnings are not necessary as they did the honorable thing. I would take that 3K and wait until I located a mint hatch in your color from a wrecked Fit that got smashed in the front, and fix only the bumper for now. That will solve your hatch paint matching and body filler quandary. Patience will pay off.

Sounds like a pretty good shop to me. Just an employee making a mistake.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of TiresPlus for other reasons, but it sounds like they did the right thing. As someone else mentioned, mistakes happen. It's how they take care of their mistakes. And looks like you will actually come out AHEAD from this, so you should be happy about it.

There is a Carbon Fiber Hatch on ebay FIT 09-10 HONDA OEM VIS Racing Carbon Fiber Trunk HATCH - eBay (item 390230925671 end time Dec-24-10 16:53:46 PST) I don't know of anyone who's done one but if you're modding your Fit that would look different and I'm sure there's some weight savings... Just my $0.02

Hum?!?

I wonder if I should swap out my hatch (and maybe hood too).

But the odd thing is, even though I like the idea of a carbon fiber hatch (and hood), I am not a big fan of making them stand out... Maybe get it paint matched to the body.

That sucks. I don't tires-plus or Wheelworks as it is known here. They screwed with my girlfriends car and would not fix the problem whith-out a lot of cash. I took somewhere else and told everyone I knew. I would never go back there again.

Sounds like they took care of you. Hope you find a Hatch somewhere, good luck though.
