AEM F/IC and rsx-s Injectors Installed

Figured I throw up pics from installing everything today.

Wiring was tedious but bearable. About 20-25 cut and soldered conections. ECM pin diagram was essential, only had to splice 2 of the 3 harnesses.

Thank goodness for heatshrink tape or this would have taken significantly longer trying to work in such a small area and using a tube on each one. Would I do it again, heck yes, not a chance I would pay $225 for a Boomslang harness. Also, don't forget to wire up your map sensor to analog a so you can clamp it later.

only used about half the wires.

Intake manifold and fuel rail has to come out to change injectors.

It's not until you remove the lower manifold that you realize just how insanely long the runners are. Great for low to mid power but no so much up top.

$100 shipped for 4 used rsx-s injectors. Would have gotten rdx injectors if I hadn't gotten a deal on these.

you'll notice the fit on the right is a bit different from the projected rsx-s injectors. Not sure if this is for the good, bad, or neither but they are a direct plug and play fit.

Got everything back together, tidied up the wires, spliced the vacuum line, and mount the fic to the ecm cover.

The cool thing is that you can just slide the cover off the ecm to remove the fic from the bay.

Stuck on some cheap weatherstripping foam to help block out the elements since the f/ic is not waterproof.

All in all, for someone who has never installed or tuned a piggyback before, this has been stupid easy. The software is great and even makes a base map for you. Only a few more weeks till boost

How much bigger are the RSX injectors? Any difference in driving with the F/IC?

Ahh damnit. I knew things were going too good. The USB side of this thing seems to have bricked on me. None of my laptops are even detecting it when I plug it in. Now I have to wake up early and call aem before work to see if they will replace it. There's probably only 1 machine in the whole country that can hard flash it.

At least the injector tune is stuck in there in the meantime.

Isn't the ecu in the cabin in the gd? That thing it's mounted to is the ge ecu. I'd have to solder in 25 extension wires and put them through the firewall.

Man the more I heart about how the GE is built, the more I face palm.

I'll have to check and see if they make an extension harness long enough to get it through the firewall. Splicing wires is getting boring quick. You GD guys (with the ecu already in the cabin) saying you wouldn't put it under the hood would be somewhat like me saying to you that I wouldn't run boost without forged rods (since the ge already has them), though not quite so extreme.

The newer Civics also have their ECU under the bonnet and not in cabin. It's not really an issue about being under there, but you may want to use your creative side and cover it up more.

GOOD SHYTE!!!

These are my final 0-60 times for NA tuned with the new injectors.

10.2
10.2
9.9

My best ever, not bad for an at.

-custom sri
-colder spark plugs
-weaponr header
-egr delete
- fic +4% fuel over stock (-36% on 310cc Rsx injectors)
- ecu fuel trims dialed in to +6%

Btw aem techsupport is great. We managed to get it back up and running again.

Have you dynoed your car? If so, please post results?

Any plans for FI? If so, turbo or SC?

No plans to dyno, maybe later after fi. I am already 80% done with the turbo. I just need to wait for the oil line kit to arrive and to get my downpipe welded on to the rest of my exhaust.

Where can you buy a harness for the AEM F/IC?
Do you have a link to the harness?

The fic comes with a harness much the same way a car radio comes with a harness.

If the AEM F/IC comes with a harness, then why did you do all the soldering?

if the harness looked anything like a radio harness then soldering is a better way of doing it then using bud connectors.
