Automatic tranny, breaking in or breaking down.
I'm observing some *interesting* shift behavior. Before my at during a WOT shift would shift quick then apply power to wheels with a bit of a 'slush' feeling and then finally 'lock up (the stator)'
Now almost out of nowhere I'm am experiencing an odd behavior. At wot I hit 6.8k, the stator is unlocked, the shift begins, and my rpms start to fall BUT at about 5500 rpms I feel 'slush power' being applied to the wheels!? Being applied as the rpms are still falling!? this continues for an instant until it locks up and kicks in at the same moment as positive rpm climb. 4650 is the lowest it drops from the 1-2 shift.
Trans fluid is justslightly low but in spec. Color is still a pretty red.
Did it just take 46000 miles for my tranny to break in?
The feeling is smooth and oddly more powerful feeling even considering how 'fat' my midrange feels.
What rpm level are you guys dropping to after your 1-2 shift.
Also, random fact, the ecu/PCM closes the throttle to 60% during the shift (even at wot) but not enough reduce manifold pressure below atmospheric levels.

There is 353 pages on the automatic transmission in the service manual and it is late... I'll see if I can get an idea as to what is going on tomorrow and get back with you.... There is a shitload of solenoids on that thing.
