Yes they do and they're easy to change.

Empty your lower glove box and squeeze the two tabs at each side to release the glove box and let it pivot down. You'll see the filter cabinet behind there. Push a couple more tabs and the filter slides right out.

Haven't tried the fit but the Ridgeline is pretty darn accessible. (same deal, drop the glove box and slide out the filter - speaking of that... gotta do that this weekend.)

Do not let the dealer replace it. They will charge you a crazy amount of money. You can buy the filter probably for less than $25 and put it in yourself in about 2 minutes.

Yeah this service seems to be a cash grab. Even the $25 filter seems out of line to me. I was thinking of building a frame and inserting part of a furnace filter in there.

How often do we typically need to change cabin filter? I know this may depend on the environment we normally drive in and where we live etc.. I could not locate this in the owners manual. I may have missed something

It's not so much by time/miles- it's by how dirty the old one is. Check it every now and then (not exactly hard to do), and if it's dirty, change it.

Handa accessories (handa.com) has them for ~$20 each- Mark W.

Thanks thaduke2003.

As this is my first time, never changed my car filter before visually, what is the color change before we consider the FIT cabin filter as dirty..this may be subjective.

For our home furnace filter, I normally change the filter after the filter turned gray with all the trapped house dirt. I do not want to apply the same "dirty visual standard" to the FIT filter if I should change the filter earlier

Standard is white, dirty is visually dirty- gray to black for dirt, perhaps brownish or yellow with trapped pollen, depending on what's in the air where you live. You'll know when it's dirty Mark W.

Cabin Filter replacement charge at dealership...

Just took the family Civic to the dealership for an oil/filter change. I couldn't help but notice the posted list of services on the wall behind the counter. The price for changing the cabin filter was listed as $85.00.
While waiting for the oil change, I went to visit the parts department. The guys quoted $26 for the filter alone.
I can't believe that they are charging $59 for 5 minutes labor!

Probably a one hour minimum labor charge.

That seems like a really high mark up for replacing the filter. I ended up having to go to the dealerhsip to get the CF hood replaced with the stocker for the winter. My friend who helps me out with the car started a new job and they were working him every weekend so we just could not get together. I called Bob at the body shop and they did it for me for 20.00 - it only took them less than 10 minutes because they had to replace the liner and put new rubber back on because we tried to remove it thinking it had to go on the new CF but it did not . They are alawys doing things like that for me which is nice - they just love the MR Fit and call it the Super Fit whenever I bring it in for anything. They had a young guy who just started working as a mechanic and he was really into modfiied cars. They told him he had an oil change on a Fit that morning and when they rolled in my car - they said he turned around and yelled,"Now thats what I'm talking about" He kept calling me that morning to ask me questions about my parts on the car and where I had gotten them. He called once to say that the Maneki Neko was about to fall off of the back tow hook and could they use a black zip tie to put it back on - he said they wanted to lower it just a little to make it more visable. My co-workers thhought they were having trouble with the car because they kept on calling me. They said he was really having a good time looking over the car and seeing what I had done with it. I am happy to have such a great Honda dealership to work on it.

Easy to change...less then 5 minutes from start to finish. Follow everyones advise here and you can do it for less then $25.00. Bernardi Honda online has the filter at a great price. Our local Honda dealer wanted $69.00 with a coupon to do it. So I ordered the filter on line and did it myself...power to the FitFreaks!
