Is this normal?

Hello
i just got my car back from the dealer after the recent recall.
now my car sounds like a small diesel truck. the dealer told me it's normal for Honda fit but i never heard the clicking noise so loud before. i can hear it with hood closed and from the driver sit at the idle. i also hear light metallic rattle wile I'm driving...

here is the video clip of the engine from this morning.

LOL. That doesn't sound right at all, for any non-diesel Honda. Does your car now push out blue smoke from the exhaust as well?

That's pretty much what my engine is like, and agree it's like a slight diesel sound, especially when winding down the engine at low revs. I have yet to go in for the recall, but do fall into the range.

I don't like the sound of this (pun intended). I will be seriously POed if my car sounds like that after they perform the recall fix. It's running fine now, BTW.

no blue smoke
just the noise which wasn't this noticeable.

This is what I would do.

Don't sweat it yet. Go and bring your car to the dealer and park right next to a new 2011. Open both hoods and have them start both side by side and compare.

Otherwise your head is going to explode.

If the valves were not adjusted correctly (too hot, too loose) you will have noise. Prior replies are right, park it next to a new one and listen to them both, if yours doesn't sound right raise Cain. Contact Honda if you need, this is one reason I'm waiting til late to have mine done.

I wonder if the LMA spring manufacturer is the same as the Lexuses and Toyotas that have been recalled for broken valve springs....
