I'd say at this point, nobody really knows. Given the high gas prices, it couldn't have come at a worse time for Honda. My local dealer had one Fit in stock as of yesterday.

I was going to say that I bet the high gas prices probably has demand way up too. So you can probably sell a used one for more than you could before.

I'm glad I got mine a few weeks ago...and I feel like crap saying that given the circumstances

But I agree...small gas sipping imports are going to be at a premium now.....I bet any remaining Fits on the dealer lots now may move quickly...same goes of the Yaris I'd say

Same here. I missed out on another 2010 I was eyeing, it sold pretty quickly. Very glad I snatched up the SSM one last week. Really liking it. My average mpg keeps going up (first week so far, so not sure where I'll average out)

Another reason why they should just make the fit here. More jobs for the U.S. with no cost to reliability.

According to AN the Sayama and Suzuka Fit assembly lines are down for perhaps a week. Both produce Fits but are in southern Japan where the Tsunami and earthquake was or could be a lot less.
That should have a slight effect on Fit availability but shouldn't be great; the real problem will be sales increases gobbling up inventory.
At least it won't be as bad as the Nissan/Infinity shortage; APP took a photo of their staging yard. Its the one we see often on TV where there was a mass of vehicles squashed, drowned, and abused at a seaport.
The Toyota Central at Miyagi and Kanto at Iwate both are adjacent to the eartquake epicenter and could threaten those supplies of Yaris sedans and Scions.
