Unhappy Where can I buy 2009 Honda Fit radio antenna?

The radio antenna on my 2009 Fit Sport was stolen recently. Someone unscrewed it. I called the dealer and their parts department quoted me $36. Does anyone know if I can buy the original antenna online? And, how can I prevent from having it stolen again?

Thanks!

I don't know but I would try ebay. The only way to prevent it from being stolen is to take it off and lock it in the car, or take it with you.

Ebay has OEM and aftermarket. Still range from $20-25 each. Good luck .

Just search around for S2000 antennas. You can find them as cheap as $10... which just makes the people who steal them that much more ghetto.

Here's your part. 39151-SWA-305 - ELEMENT ASSY. (YOKOO) - Bernardi Honda Parts and Accessories You can also get a replacement at AutoZone etc. It may not be a direct match, but it will work. I have an antenna from a Toyota Matrix on mine, a little longer and picks up better. I bought a cheap antenna from AutoZone, took a used Matrix for a test drive and swapped.

Seriously? WTF! Why didn't the Fit just use the embedded antenna in the rear windshield? I get just as good, if not better, reception on my 2001 Civic with the embedded antenna.

Because that would cost Honda more money to produce it.

Here is an alternative....

O - Short Stubby Antenna - Color: Black

I've had this for over 1.5 years. I like it.
Sorry no opinion on preventing it from being stolen. Good luck.

......

I have both a 2002 Honda S2000 and a 2009 Fit Sport. They are completely interchangeable, they are the same length and in all respects look virtually identical. The 2001 VW Passat has a slightly longer antenna which has the same threads as the Honda unit, and can also be used. In fact, that is why I got the additional S2000 antenna - it looked better on the VW. When I traded the Passat away, I kept the S2000 antenna as a spare.

Thanks for all of your replies. I just purchased the original OEM antenna from eBay, since it turned out to be the cheapest option: GENUINE HONDA ANTENNA CIVIC CRV ELEMENT FIT INSIGHT - eBay (item 260728188642 end time Mar-27-11 16:33:04 PDT)
