JDM Fit spotted

I was out at lunch today and spotted either a JDM Fit or one with a front end conversion. I had to do a double take because at first it just looked like a base model Fit. It had caught my eye because it was the first Alabaster Silver one I've seen, but then I noticed the non-LED JDM taillights and shorter nose, especially between the corner window and headlight. It looked like a dark-haired girl was driving. I must find her...

Does anyone know if it's someone on here? It was spotted in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Are you sure it wasn't a Mexican spec GE? I think they have the short, JDM nose over there. Same goes for the GD.

It might have been, I didn't see the plates. I forgot that they probably have this version just over the border (no pedestrian restrictions? lol). I know you're a bit further south, do you guys in the Houston area see them all the time?

I've not seen the one from Mexico and until yesterday I thought they had the same front as us. I'm surprised that there aren't a few RS clones running around TX since it's got to be relatively cheap to get salvage parts from Mexico. If I knew this before I bought my sport stuff for my base to sport conversion I'd most likely have an RS clone right now.

Yeah, for sure. With all the work you've been doing converting yours, it couldn't have been much more difficult lol.

I haven't seen a Fit from Mexico yet but knew about them having the shorter, JDM fronts after coming across a link to a Honda of Mexico's site that goes to the build your own Fit section.

P.S. - Mexico doesn't care about pedestrian safety I've heard. Pretty much if a person is hit by a car while walking across the road, the person on foot is at fault.

Yeah the OEM Honda stuff was kinda steep. If I could have gotten OEM salvage parts from Mexico at a lower price I'd been all over that. For what I've spent, I could have had an RS clone. Don't get me wrong I love my car and will still most likely do the Mugen Kit, but I would have set myself apart by going that route... Most likely would have lightened up the car too...

I never see any non-stock fits in Houston, or even Tyler for that matter. The only people I see driving the fits are old people and women hahaha.

I see them a lot here in El Paso, the sports definitely look nice, the base....not so much with the stubby front.

i'm probably the only one on this site who loathes the JDM front huh? i don't think it has any sporty quality to them at all. kind of like our base.

I like the USDM front better, but it's cool to see something different. To me, the JDM front end does look more "natural" as though the car was always meant to be that way in the original design. The USDM at certain side angles can make me cringe. I also like several of the front bumpers that the JDM version gets, makes me jealous.

I like the JDM style and the body kits you can get for them. Shorter front just looks better to me on the Fit.
