For intake, the K&N is nice- no worries about puddles, no CEL, and a lifetime warranty, plus the filters are re-usable and washable. Go CAI if you are willing to worry about deep puddles if it rains HARD.

As for exhaust, I wouldn't put one on a DD fit- too much noise for too little gain. However, remember that if you do, you get what you pay for, up to a point. Cheap mufflers and pipe are cheap because the muffler has poor welds that won't last and little sound deadening material inside, and the pipe (and muffler) is cheap because it's not stainless steel. Stainless lasts a long, long time, aluminized doesn't- Mark W.

No worries here with the injen CAI. We just had the rainiest April in years. As long as your not trying to drive thru a pond thats a foot deep, a CAI is not going to suck in water.

^ Indeed, BUT, there's always that jackass who goes racing in the rain, and goes through even a shallow puddle under WOT, and hydrolocks his engine. It happens, and I always advise that if you have to ask, go SRI Especially on something like a GE, where the power difference won't be more than a pony or two- Mark W.

My own setup is currently a K&N filter with the silencer removed and the T1R 50S axleback. It's just a bit of a hp and torque gain, but it also sounds much better. I decided not to do an intake because it will probably be too loud. If I didn't get the T1R, I would have probably purchased the Tanabe Concept G or Touring Medalion.

Yes, according to the dyno that AJR did, there's about a 4hp gain on the high end for the axleback alone.

I'm not a fan of the big tip mufflers, but it doesn't seem like anyone makes an aftermarket muffler with a normal tip on it.

I'm going to have an axle back custom made with a magnaflow muffler, and a stock size tip.

^Always an attractive option. Borla is usually good about putting attractive, not overly garish tips on their catbacks, but they seem to be in the minority. Welding on your own tip of choice is always an option. Also, a smaller tip may reduce noise level SLIGHTLY, which is nice- can't stand all the fartcans rolling around hurting my old man ears Mark W.

He also is considering price, hks is expensive. Do custom piping with a filter of your choice.
