Hey everybody - occasional forum reader, first post. I have a '09 Sport (Orange) and had a little run-in with an unfamiliar garage door. Bottom line, the stock antenna was ripped clean off. Instead of throwing the same one on I figured it would be cool to throw a shark fin style antenna on there, and it would make the most sense to have another Honda one, namely the CR-Z. The problem is, the connectors to the wire harness are different for the Fit and CR-Z. The dealer is looking into whether the wire harness can be replaced as well, but they've been looking into it for a while. Anybody tried this? I can't go with a after market shark fin because the antenna base is a goner (the CR-Z is all one piece).

hmmmm your best bet is to find a wiring schematic for a CR-Z, and trace the antenna and figure out what's going there. If the same wires (I'd imagine power, gnd, and one or two data wires) are going, you could make your own pretty easy by adapting. If it's just a different connector you're gravy. If one is 3 wire and the other is 5 wire, you're probably eff'd.

Another alternative is a cheap shark fin type antenna off of ebay. There are several threads about them here on this site, FYI.

 

Cool thanks. I've read (I think) every post about shark fin antennas, the problem here is I need to get the whole shebang, including the antenna base. The CR-Z antenna is about the same $ as the Fit antenna base and mast. It seems like most folks that have thrown on a shark fin had an intact antenna and just covered the antenna base with a shark fin. I've looked at a few wiring diagrams but they're so low quality it's hard to tell what you're seeing. Will keep looking tho - thx again.

 

Oh, I see. Benardi parts will sell you the base (p/n 39152-TF0-E01, #10 in img below) for $74.80. Then you can put whichever top you wish on it, fin, factory, etc.
