hissing noise after a long run with the aircon on
i have just come back from a 60 miles motorway run in the rain and had the air con on for over an hour for the full trip and after switching the engine off i can hear a hissing sound (like a leak in a tyre) the air con was working fine as usual and i lifted the bonnet and the radiator fluid was full up
has anyone else experienced this, my jazz is the 1.2 S GE (2011 new shape)
thanks

I've noticed this in my GE8 1.5L, I just thought it was normal. Though I don't hear it when I come to a stop, its usually if I'm costing to a stop or just slowing down, like the pump is spooling off. In a weird way it kind of reminds me of older hard drives, the way those would make noise when you shut your pc down. I know, weird comparison and the noises don't line up at all but still.....

Listen to your refrigerator sometime. Put your ear next to it. Lots of gurgling and hissing even after it turns off. Gas is compressed, condensed to a liquid, allowed to evaporate (expansion valve (or orifice in less complex systems than the Fit's), probably the source of hissing), and the cycle repeats.
As long as it cools, it's normal.
