any shop recommendations in the 908/201/973 area?

Seriously looking for a shop to start an honest relationship with. Hosed by both local honda stealerships and looking for a place I can take my car ....

would like them to have a hydraulic press (wheel bearings, studs) since a few shops I went to didnt and didnt tell me so when I caught them hammering away at my hubs it was too late

alignment and familiarity a plus.....another shop I went to told me it took a while to replace studs since they've never seen a rotor so small (it was a pep boys mind you and I think most small cars have this size rotor, wasnt hard to find on ebay )

So if you can make a recommendation it would be to my and the shops mutual benefit (I drive alot and I love my fit= maintenance)...

Santiad, years ago Steve's Honda in Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany on N Beververik Road was very good. Haven't been in that area for many years, so hopefully their still in business.

Yeah, I used them a few years ago and had a pretty good experience. I went there when I was shopping for my fit but never took my fit there for service....

I have an appointment tomorrow morning there for them to check my front wheel bearings...was a bit skeptical when they said it might fall under the powertrain warranty (always thought they were a wear and tear item)...

Route 22 Honda in Elizabeth is a good place to go to. I purchased my Fit in PA but take it there for maintenance.

My experience at Planet Honda was a mixed bag:

The good: Customer Service was great, every department had sunny dispositions and sh!t. Bagels, coffee, nice tv room, snack and meal machine.....

When he disclosed what work needed to be done he was cool about it and even though I declined the service and paid the diagnostic fee, he said if I returned within 30 days they would deduct the diagnostic from the total bill.

The bad: so I had noisy bearings and another local mechanic said it was noisy but not failing yet. Honda confirmed it was noisy, but said both bearings had to be replaced in addition:

brake fluid contanimated (though I went dot 4 less than a year ago and did a full bleed out)

antifreeze contanimated (at 69k but replaced the antifreeze at 50k)

Transmission fluid burnt (though I replace it at 50k, and it looked pink and clean last week)

hepa filter needs replacing (they want to charge 70 bucks to replace it LOL, I have a spare in my garage)

all four tires need replacing (true, but waiting to replace with winter tires in a month or so).

So my estimate was approx 3k...looking to order the bearings myself and pay the mechanic I went to in the first place(who charged me $35 for his dianostic) $210 to press in both bearings and another 60 for an alignment...500 vs 3000
