Smile What if you had $5,000?

Hello everybody. I'm new to the Fit Community and this is my first post. I don't know much about the Fit, but my wife drives a 2011 Honda Fit Sport w/Navi and I drove it for the first time yesterday and it is SLOW, especially the acceleration. So my question is, if you had $5,000, what would you do to it to put some more pep in it's step.

Mission swap. Sorry, for me I just can't stand autotragic missions especially in a small 1.5 liter motor that is already lacking power.

I'd buy a 240sx for 1.5k and put in an SR20DET.

Bam.

Or a 91 Civic and put in an H22, but I have a feeling that's not the answer you're looking for.

555 is right, the Auto takes and already sluggish car and kills all of its enthusiasm

Hookers and blow. You'll get the temporary feeling that the car's way more awesome.

Oh you're in Texas? No emissions? TURBO for $5K

There's nothing worth spending your money on to get "more power" from the motor. Sell it and put the 5k down on something with more motor.

About the best thing you can do is put very light weight wheels and tires on it.. That will set you back around 25% of what you have to spend... It makes a surprising difference in many ways other than and as well as acceleration..

I have a 60mm T4 frame turbo, some 850cc injectors and a snow performance meth kit up for sale that you could use as part of a badass turbo setup.

"What if you had $5,000?"

I do and also have a Fit.

The plan is to leave the 5Gs in the bank and keep
enjoying the Fit in stock form.

When I have the need or desire for more pep I will
purchase the appropriate vehicle.

If I had to spend 5 grand on the fit, It would be towards my loan. Much more pep into being out of debt.

I'd have bought the Civic Si/navi instead. Oh wait I did that already.

Your best other alternative lies in a turbo add-on.

It's your wife's car, don't spend a dime on it, except maybe a cute little stuffed animal to hang from the rear view mirror.

Wait!

Now that I have re-read your post I am confused.

Do you mean putting more pep in your wife's step or the Fits?

5Gs will just be a start with the wife... you will need a lot more
cash.

With an auto transmission,i would leave it alone,at most put a K&N air filter, the one that fits in the stock housing.I drive a 2011 FIT sport 5 speed manual, before that, a 2004 Accord coupe V6 6peed,slightly modified, so still trying to get used to the MUCH slower FIT.But I get great gas mileage,it handles pretty good and it is a fun car,it grows on you.The auto transmission won't handle a turbo or a substantial power increase with anything else.I suggest just get used to it it is a great little car.

Gut it to get as much excess weight out (sell for more cash), get lighter weight wheels and tires (sell factories for more cash), get a short ram or cold air intake not a lame K&N drop in filter (they let more dirt in anyway and the oil can mess with the MAP sensor), and an electronic throttle body controller. If that doesn't help, PM DiamondStarMonsters afterwards and he'll set you up real nice.

Texas does have emissions testing in 9 various counties state wide. Which is kinda lame. :/
