Question regarding the mud flaps

I have a 2009 Honda Fit Sport and want to buy mud flaps for it. I am reading on this website that "Not be used with the body kit that is standard on the Fit sport model" for the Sport model, why is that and what should I install?

The front mudflaps won't fit because the Sport has sideskirts and the mudflaps are molded to follow the base body. You can install the rear mudflaps on the Sport, since the rear bumpers are the same between the sport and base.

I have not seen any application specific mudflaps for the sport but maybe someone else has? There are universal mudflaps available if you really want some.

If you're looking for real mud flaps, keep looking! There's a set of these on one of our Fits (Jadzia), and at best they should be viewed as exactly the way they're described: "splash guards". They do an OK job of keeping some of the tire spray off the car, but nowhere near what a true, hang-down mud flap could achieve.

I have them on the rear, the only difference they may make is keeping some of the paint near the wheel well from scratching when I kick off the snow.

Honda needs to address this oversight.

The flaps gather air and slow down the vehicle.

Some even say the gathered air exerts an upward
force causing loss of traction in extreme cases.

Install flaps at your own risk.

I would like to see Honda make mudflaps for the Sports as we have to drive through mud and snow sometimes too.
