So glad you're alright!

Any guess how fast the car was going that rear-ended you? I'm going to be hauling my dogs around in the back end every so often and the small hatch area was a concern in the event of a rear end accident, but the back of your fit seems to have really withstood the impact well.

Specifics of the accident:

I was in the middle lane if a three lane freeway and slowing down for traffic ahead.

At the time I was hit, I was doing abut 15mph or so with about 30ft between me and the car in the front.

No audible indication that the driver that struck me had tried to stop. No tires screeching or anything.

The impact from behind propelled my car forward where I struck the car in the front of me.

I don't know how fast the car behind me was going, but that vehicles airbags did deploy. Mine, and the car in front of me did not have the airbags deploy.

Car that hit me had some damage to the front, but nothing visibly leaking from the car.

I submarined under the bumper and frame of the SUV in front of me so damage was relatively mild to the SUV.

My Fit took the worse of the damage, but the safety features of the car kept me safe and injury free.

The trunk was about half of it's normal depth. Absolutely no intrusion into the rear seat. The radiator and front top crossmember were up against the manifold of the engine.

The insurance side of things are just about taken care of, and the other driver did admit to being liable.
