2012 Fit Buyers Check in!!! Welcome and Congrats!
Here's a pic of mine. All dirty from the drive home. Snow/sleet/rain on the way home+alot of salt on the roads=

So far, tomorrow will be 7 days, I have 647 miles on the clock, and a total of 1 gas stop @$29. (I will need gas tomorrow). I love this thing already. In the element, 600 miles would be 2-2.5 tanks of $40-45. Now, if I could keep my foot out of it, I could prolly get better mpg too!

No it's am but it's secured properly to the latch with the supplied rubber band! I'm a Clemson fan and graduate so I had to represent from the color to the tail!
Man! That's a nice color
Realized I never posted mine up on this thread! But here it is. I don't know what the otd price it was a x-mad present. But man I fell in love with the fit. It just an amazing car for its size.

Just drove my new 2012 Milano Red base manual Fit home. My first brand new car, after driving a '89 Accord with 218k mi for 15 years. In the dealers terms, I paid $15,061 + $499 dealers fees for a total of $15,560 + 8.31% tax = $16,853 OTD. I prefer to think of it that I paid invoice+tax without any stupid dealer fee profit markups. What a crazy shell game, but I think I did ok.
I looked at the Fiesta which was waaay too cramped in the back, and of course the notorious lack of view out the back window. Test drove the Mazda 2, which was cramped all around and no power at all in 2nd gear. Also, sitting in the back seat, my head hit the headliner curves before I could even touch the headrest. I did really like the Madza 2 shifter, even a bit nicer than the Fit. Also test drove the Hyundai Accent, while the interior cabin space was nice, the 6-spd shifter sucked and pretty much everything felt super artificial and plastic. I felt the Fit was the best of everything at the price range: nice shifting, a bit of fun pep and handling, incredible cabin space, visibility, stow space, safety, resale, but you guys already know this better than me. And this site, having read it for hours and hours beforehand probably played a significant role in my purchase.
I plan to get the windows tinted immediately and I'm still a bit undecided on the clear bra. It seems to work well, but it sounds like the paint kinda blows anyway, so I'm wondering if I'll just have this one pristine patch at the front while the rest is decaying. Also I'll probably pick up the cargo tray, and maybe the cargo cover, which interestingly enough, my 89 Accord hatch has a very similar cheap cover as well. I just read they DIY cargo cover thread, and might try that path first. I've also been eyeing that shifter knob...

I ALMOST bought my 2012 Fit Sport AT in that color, but after looking at it in broad daylight at the local dealership, I personally thought the color was just a tad too tacky-looking (pre-MMC current-generation Fits had a really light blue color I really liked). That's why I ended up with the Alabaster Silver Metallic color for my car.

Checking in with a brand new Milano Red Fit base!!!! No pics as of yet. Has 1000 miles so far in about 3 weeks of ownership. Current mods are Honda Weathertech mats, muffler delete, K&N panel with modded box and 17 inch black rims.
Good idea on the flipped tag bracket. Today I just received my plates in the mail from the DMV and I think I'll flip my bracket too. I don't suppose it affects air flow to the radiator much?
