Mustang, which would be my eighth overall and sixth of the 99-04 generation, so I know exactly what I'm getting.
Post pics when you pick up your new Fit!

Haha, I just saw the similarities between this and a thread in TCL, and I'm assuming you are the same person. Like I mentioned there, I think the Fit will serve you best. The manual is a lot more fun to drive. Plus, when it comes to a SMART move, the Fit is golden in that area. Considering the latest consumer reports article, it's about as good of an investment in a new car as you could make.

Also, I think the Fit's styling will hold up in the long run, and resale will be very good with these. In a few years, the overstyled dash will look tame, and the bold sharp lines will look be a relief to people in a sea of Velosters and Kias.

And finally, I don't trust predictions when it comes to gas prices, and when they go up, these subcompacts also get more expensive to buy. Gotta have one when the wave strikes. That security is worth the low torks to me. Then, having an additional fast car would be a good compliment to the Fit someday.

Some great points covered. I felt "at home" driving the manual. No time spend getting used to the shifter nor the clutch.

It will ultimately boil down to my pending raise, insurance rates, and my ability to negotiate a trade-in, as well as whether or not I want to scream "POWAAAA" as I kick the back end out turning onto on-ramps or just settling for "I'll catch up to you guys in a minute!"

2011. Silver bits.

2012. Notice the chrome rings on the gauge cluster and A/C vents.

Yes, quite a bit. On the highway, the manual can be 700-800 RPM higher than the automatic.

They are the same knobs, they're just oriented a hair differently.
