This is a bit of a bland question, but has anyone found an ice/snow scraper that collapses small enough to fit down with the spare? I'm looking for one of the longer ones with a brush on one end, not the short ones that just have a scraper. If I can't fit it back there it isn't a big deal, but it would be nice

Here's a link to a product page I found. Definitely a different and heavy duty looking model, but does not have the brush. Hmmm...seems Bed, Bath and Beyond carries it. Not sure if in-store or online only:

BTW, here's a thought. Why not buy both a small one handed scraper which gives you better leverage, and get another of the larger ones with the brush on the end and store it in the back or under the back seat? Seems to be MUCH more cheaper.

for those of you in the areas with a winter, just throwing in 2cents.
Have you tried using like rain-x or other hydrophobic glass treatment? Does that help with having to scrape?
I would think it should help super well.

 

I've used rain-x, and while it does help with rain, I haven't noticed any difference from while the car doesn't have the defroster. In my old vehicle I drove without windshield wipers through a snowstorm for quite a distance because the front defroster was on full blast, but I don't think there would be any effect when your car is parked.

I also noticed rain-x tends to make the window fog up a bit more.

 

well this thread is about an ice scraper. It follows that if the ice/frost doesn't stick to the windshield less scraping will be needed.
