clutch pedal noises

I seem to have an issue that just started recently with my fit... After driving the car for a little bit, the clutch starts making a loud springy sound. The clutch feels fine... I'm not sure if that could be the master or slave cylinder.. I am a pretty light and economical driver so I do not think it is something severely wrong. Anyway does anyone have any insight or have had similar issues. I have 79k and I am always on top of my maintenance( not that it would really affect the clutch).. and yes the clutch fluid level is fine. Thank you all so much!

Changing the clutch fluid might not be a bad idea. Don't know if it will fix anything but it's pretty easy to do.

It amazes me that these questions get asked and answered with absolutely no indication of the model/year of the car.

If everyone created a signature w/ that basic info it would make things so much easier.
If you don't know what a sig is, it's the info following posts that can include the details needed to ID your car. Click on USER CP [top left of this page] and look at 'Edit Signature'.

Don't mean to be critical, but. Think about it, it really helps those who try to help. Make it a New Years resolution.

Well it's posted in the GE8 section.

I wouldn't worry about that sound unless there's something else.. Something between your left foot and the clutch disc could probably use some grease, but just handle that when you're doing a clutch job.

Without being able to inspect your car there are simply too many possibilities as to where the noise originates. It could be that you need grease right above the clutch pedal, worn diaphragm springs on the pressure plate, or maybe just need fresh grease on the clutch fork. There's a lot of places from the pedal to the clutch disc that require grease. It probably just got old somewhere so you're getting a bit of noise.

If there are no problems besides the slight noise, there's no need to worry right now.

And yet, we get plenty of new visitors that ask about their GDs, because the subsection has "08" in the name, and they have an '08 Fit. And at 79k miles... I wouldn't be surprised if the OP's Fit was a GD.

yup, did a search... the OP not only posted the problem in the GD section, but later mentioned that he has a 2008 (also mentioned a 2007 in the GE thread about monthly payments)

Springy noise? Does it have a "spring" mod? I know some folks did that for the gas pedal, but who knows about the clutch.

Edit: the OP posted about some clutch issues about a year and half ago... and coolant leak... hum...
