Same here with my 2012 Sport. ZAP....every time. It is BAD electrical bonding not dicipating to ground. It builds up in the body and is transferred to the human body. When the path of least resistance is found...our body to the car body...ZAP and instant discharge. It is not painful, just not quite right. I may say a word to Honda about it. I NEVER had that problem with any other vehicle.

Did all your other vehicles have leather? Every vehicle I've had with cloth seats has zapped the shit out of me. That is, until I touch the metal portion of the door when stepping out or spray anti-static on the seats...

It must be the seat fabric... I have an 09 and have never been consistently zapped like this by any car I've owned.

I lived in Korea for 2 years, and a lot of Koreans put static discharge straps on their cars. Usually see them in pairs hanging from the rear bumper. Looks dumb, but it probably works.

Just touch the metal on the roof of your car, don't let go until you completely exited the car, no shock at all since I've started doing that, works every time.

Alternatively, hold a metal key, and let the key touch whatever your hand's about to touch first, then the spark would zap the key instead of your hand, and you won't feel a thing.

What?

I've had static issues on all of the vehicles I've owned (including my GS-R with Leather) I just step out of the car and put the butt of my wrist on the frame. quick Zap and I'm discharged.
