Springs Here! Detail time!

I've officially had my fit for 1 year and the soft paint sucks! But it was the same on my 2009 si so I knew what to expect. I've hand washed it since new and always used the proper techniques but swirls are inevitable and with Milano Red they are super noticeable in certain light. I'm going to be doing a full correction(swirl removal) with a Griots Garage 6" Polisher and the Wolfgang Total Swirl Removal kit from Autogeek . net

Keep an eye out for a full write up!

What are your experiences if you've done this already!

it's not just about the hand washing, it's also about picking the right sealant so when you do wash you will just be sacrificing the sealant/wax rather than the paint.

If you're going through that trouble for a full detail, may I suggest to pick up some of the new nano-ceramic/quartz/silicon/glass style sealants which can make up for the soft paint.
At autogeek:
Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 Permanent Paint Coating FREE BONUS
or
CQuartz Ceramic Quartz Paint Protection, CQuartz nano coating, nano paint sealant

Expensive, but if you're going through that trouble, I think putting in the time to do it.

Here also is another product of similar tech that can sometimes be found at your local car store.
http://nanodiamondshield.com/

If swirls are a problem then having a LSP of just actual carnauba wax will help provide the sacrificial layer.

Don't freak out when you see how red your pad gets. Get some pad cleaner and a few extra polishing pads.

Why would the pad become red? I was under the impression that Milano Red did have a clear coat. Am I mistaken? Also I appreciate the heads up if that's the case cuz yeah I would have been like WTF! Lol

I think the deal is that the clear coat is actually tinted some what... Milano Red is a tricoat and it does have a clearcoat.
