For me at least, driving on shitty roads bothers my hearing. And I live in Tucson, alot of roads here are pretty beat up. When I get on those smooth paved roads, life is good and noise isn't such a big deal for me.

The 2012 Fits have extra soundproofing if you want to stick with a Fit. I test drove a 2009 Fit Sport Auto while I was shopping and it was noticably louder at highway speeds than my 2012 Fit Sport Auto.

Also, it won't help with wind noise, but several posters on here rave about how better tires can reduce road noise considerably. I plan to switch to something like the Continental DWS 205/50/16 once I wear out the stock Dunlops.

Ya I have a '12 Fit and last night after reading this thread I drove to the store to see if the noise was above average. I think, at least in a '12 Fit, the wind noise is pretty quiet. I read somewhere they added sound deadening and made the quarter window glass thicker.

Duct tape is a great suggestion for a younger person.. I think for us old guys with hair growing out of our ears it would be painful to remove... I was just thinking how much getting old has effected me and realized that I haven't spent the night in jail for fighting in almost 15 years..

I find it keeps the ears plucked.
