Cut sheet metal, weld in baffles.

Order a baffled oil pan?

I am sure if you call up a shop like Mororso, etc they will sell you a custom baffled pan.

Spoon has one for the CR-Z, but not the GE8. I asked if they planned on bringing one out, but they wouldn't say yes or no.

Make something like this, it doesn't even have to be that crazy with the cylinder part hanging down like that.

You're not doing 2g sweepers at 9k RPM, I think a simple baffle would be fine for most AutoX or road race people on here.

If it were me, i'd take it to an experienced race shop and have them do it. I'd rather pay once than buy another pan because I screwed up welding/warped the pan

An improperly made baffle can make problems worse.. far worse.

I agree with going to an experienced race shop. Your sump appears to be a small cup in the bottom of the sump. Its a good idea but did you calculate the amount of oil that would remain in the cup in a 0.8 g turn?
If the cup is shallow enough the oil will pour over the side and potentially let air in the pump.
A better method is walling the oilpickup such that its almost impossible for the oil to get out as in a double opposing 'u'. thats just the start.

Pic was stolen from a Japanese speed shop blog (old one at that 2002ish I think haha), I just used it because it was DIY and fairly simple in design.

I'm glad this discussion is moving in a good direction. I wouldn't mind doing some baffles in the future after my car is retired from DD status, so any knowledge gained is good. Thanks

I'm looking at that oil pan and it doesn't even look remotely like the one for a GD3. :-D
At this point I'm not sure if even taking it to a race shop in my area will do any good. If they don't know the car or how the oil will react in a race how can they baffle it properly. Spoon must have done this. I just wish I could see a picture so I've got an idea of what it needs to look like.

Thanks for the reply's though. They are much appreciated!

Here...

That's the Spoon Pan for the CRZ, so like the GE pan, L15A7, IDK how different the L15A1 pan is, but maybe you can take the concept and run with it.
