Finally pulled the trigger on a 2012 Fit - 5MT Milano Red

I am a lifelong Honda fan with some of my favorite cars being the 91 Civic hatch and 4 door wagon also the 02-05 Si hatches. I have wanted a Fit since they came out in 07 and really loved the redesign in 09... fast forward to 2012, one child in daycare, taking a new job where I am on the road more and high gas prices presented the perfect opportunity to make my dream a reality...

Went from this:

I have only had the Fit a couple days but I love it. It is just plain fun to drive. I get razzed by a few of my SUV piloting friends and Jeepers but F them... I am saving so much in gas I can justify buying an old Jeep CJ7 in a year or so to tinker with. That said, I do miss the Jeep... it was really nice, very capable, and alot of fun... but for the day to day commute etc... it was kind of a turd and boring to drive. The Fit is just a blast to toss around and I find myself always wanting to drive it... almost like when I was 16 with a learners permit, chugging all the milk in the house so there was an excuse to drive to the store. My wife and son also love the Fit which makes it a win win.

Mods to come... tint, bike rack, springs, black diffuser, black rims, more...

I was torn on the color for so long. I went back and forth between Milano red, Vortex blue, black, and Alabaster silver. I love the PMM color but my wife's pilot is PMM and I thought it would be a rather boring driveway with 2 of the same color car. I'm usually a black and silver kind of guy, red is a little flashy for me, but I just think this car looks awesome in the red. The black accents offset the color nicely and it all just comes together well. Tint and rims will make it look better I think. So glad to be a Fit owner.

Welcome, and you should consider Swift springs if you want to increase the fun factor even more!

Thank you!

Yes I am considering the Swifts and the Eibach Pro Kit, can't wait to be lower.

The Swifts will help you more in the corners than the Eibachs. Swift Springs USA

Are they pretty much the same drop? Just different rates?

Swifts are usually less drop than others but are engineered for better cornering.

it is surprising to me that another fellow jeep lover has moved to the dark side. I have owned 11 jeeps in the past and have built and loved every one of them. I sold my last one right before i bought my fit. It got to the point where my love for them was just far too expensive. Yea parts are cheaper than those for my fit, but once i went around 37" tires, my jeep was getting like 15mpg. So it sat in the driveway sad because i couldnt afford to drive it anywhere. My friends have always been import guys and always gave me crap about my jeep love. but ive got to say, ive had just as much fun on some back roads in my fit as i did in my jeeps. Its a different kind of fun, but fun none the less. I am looking to buy a jeep for a toy sometime in the near future, but in the meantime, i cant beat the enjoyment that my fit has brought me. I hope you will feel the same about youre new fit.

Same here, I have owned at least 10 Jeeps since I was 17 and love the Jeep capabilities and the lifestyle; met a ton of very cool people and learned a lot about wrenching on my own ride along the way.

My wife has a Honda Pilot so that is our family vehicle, the Jeep was my commuter and just costing us way too much per month. The Fit makes too much sense at this stage of our lives. I know I will have another Jeep in the future (or an older FJ40 land cruiser) but for now I am enjoying the great MPG and fun-to-drive-ness the Fit provides. The past week has been spent trying to impress my family and friends with how much "stuff" fits inside.

I much prefer name recognition of Eibach. Pro-kits are generally very well set up.
