850 rpm engine grumble
850 rpm engine grumble
Hi folks,
My idle seems to be set at 750 rpm (using the Mark 1 Eyeball method) with all the accessories turned off. I've done the Idle reset procedure after installing a new K&N filter and an electronic throttle controller. No other mods.
It purrs at 750.
After I turn on the AC and the radio and some lights it Idles at 850. It doesn't sound as nice. It doesn't sputter, click or clack. It just sounds like it's idling rough. Like a grumble.
I swear I can feel it in my brake pedal. Just a bit.
Could there be something wrong?
Is this normal?
Could it be a grumbling from the K&N Filter?
Anybody notice this before? Am I imagining a problem that's not there?

naw, it's normal. The idle picks up a hundred or so RPM when the A/C kicks in or just turning on the lights. One of the joys of a 1.5L engine and Honda saving fuel when additional charging/cooling not needed.

Oh! Eh moderator? How do I delete this post now that I have my answer and this no longer needs to be up? Is that something you do? I'm not seeing a delete button anywhere!
