BlackWorks Racing Coilovers

I was wondering if anyone has used the BlackWorks Racing SS Series Coilovers?

I searched the forum but didn't get any hits.

Any one?

looking for what they advertise. Better handling than stock without too much ride change.

okay then have fun with blown shocks and or failed products that put you, your family, and others around you in danger.

And this is why I say over and over, save your money for actual quality products/original and not be an impatient person who just has to be one of the Joneses to fit in. These cheap ass companies rely on the impatience of many.

That guy on Honda-Tech had no business driving that car the way it sat anyways, but unfortunately this is the retarded trend that plagues the market these days. In other words, if you are going to modify, DO IT PROPERLY and not half-assed. "I got coilovers, my shit is slammed, herrafrushed and makes all the parking lot queens go ohhhhhh". Too bad the car handles like trash compared to stock. His tie-rods were so out of whack, no way in hell he could say the handling was better and if he did, he hasn't a clue about handling or driving. Upchuck that placebo already.

Ok

Wow. SO strong opinions about his topic.

I bought my Fit because there was a great possibility the I would have to drive 12hrs. a week to see my kids. I hunted for a fuel efficient, 4 door fun car. The Fit fit the bill.

This is the first car I've ever owned like this. I'm a complete newbie to the process of upgrading such a modern car. I'm getting new rims and I'm seeing that I should also look at upgrading my suspension.

What are quality steps in this direction, without fully distributing the comfort of the ride.

Swifts are~ $250
Bilsteins are ~$1000

There are other choices of course but both swifts and Bilstein products are high quality.

looking at the products on the online markets I'm seeing what you're telling me.

Are adding just the springs going to make a huge difference in handling, or just height? Also, are springs a DIY project?

The coilovers are probably the better way to go.

Both will require you to disassemble you stock shocks/springs. The Swifts only drop 1.2 in front and 1.0 in the rear. The Bilsteins drop 1.2 to 2 inch drop. Both are designed to increase handling without killing comfort too much. A Swift/stock shock combo may last 30-50K miles before the shocks give out ( It cost $459.46 +S&H for OEM replacement shocks). The Bilsteins will probably last you longer than that...plus you get a lifetime warranty. If you want coilovers and don't care about being HELLAFLUSH or slammed then the Billys wont let you down.

Looking for performance handling, not impressing with looks. The Billys replace stock shock/struts?

The adjustments allow you to lower and find the height you like? How easy to adjust?

Measure wheel gap on level surface, jack up car, remove wheels, use supplied wrench to loosen adjuster, lower or raise to measured amount, put everything back together/ check your work.
