My friend has a 2010 Fit with navigation (the one that slides down to open). She was mad one day and hit the screen of the unit. (dont ask). Now, there is a huge shatter pattern on the screen. Where it still works, you can see the system still functions. It is just the screen. Is it possible to get a replacement screen or does she have to replace the whole unit? Im just trying to help her out.

 

Whole unit unfortunately. Check eBay tho, prob only a couple hundred bucks.

 

You can't buy that part from ANY honda dealership... Alpine makes it, and even THEN, you still can't buy it from Alpine either.

If you can pull it apart to get a part number and then find the right parts distributor, you might be able to source the LCD panel... if you have to solder it, well, it would only be workable if you can do that kind of soldering.

Maybe, depending on her insurance, she might be able to claim it under insurance (comprehensive? though it would be her fault). If it can be claimed, it would be replaced as a whole.

Lyon would likely know, since lyon works in the insurance field.

 

Maybe a little anger management before replacing? What did she hit it with? Her cell while driving?
