How to use Milton 506 tire gauge to INFLATE a tire?

I bought a Milton S506 thinking I could use it to inflate my car tires. But all it seems to do is deflate my tires. It says it inflates the tires but I can't figure out how to inflate with it.

Anyone know how to make it inflate a tire?

To ask the obvious, you do have it attached to an air compressor, right?
